Drinking Heals Packaging Featured on The DIELINE
UnD’s Japanese tea project Drinking Heals has been featured on The Dieline, one of the world’s leading platforms for creative and innovative packaging design and branding.
The article highlights why we chose to adopt a cigarette-inspired format for tea packaging and the cultural background behind it. Centered on the powerful contrast between “Smoking Kills” and “Drinking Heals,” the feature introduces how the uniquely Japanese practice of IPPUKU—a ritual of pausing to restore balance to the mind and body—was reinterpreted in a contemporary and art-driven way. It also touches on the minimalist yet clinical aesthetic of the design, as well as our attempt to merge Japan’s woodblock printing tradition, seen in ukiyo-e, with modern silkscreen printing techniques.
Through this feature, we are honored that Drinking Heals has been recognized not just as packaging, but as a cultural design project that invites reflection on everyday habits and rituals.
