Gokou Blend: A Rare High-Grade Matcha Blended in Uji

UnD is pleased to introduce a new high-grade ceremonial matcha, crafted primarily with the rare cultivar Gokou, grown in the renowned tea region of Uji, Kyoto.
Gokou is a special variety cultivated only in limited areas of Uji. Known for its rich, full-bodied aroma and deep umami, it delivers a singular experience—each sip evoking the character of the land from which it comes.
This blend was composed by Mr. Onishi, the fifth-generation tea master of Kōhōen, a tea farm with over 150 years of history in Uji. His delicate approach balances deep respect for tradition with a quiet pursuit of innovation, resulting in a matcha that draws out the full potential of the Gokou cultivar.
With a refined balance of sweetness, umami, and a gentle astringency, this matcha is well-suited not only for koicha (thick tea) and usucha (thin tea), but also offers a rich and elegant flavor as a base for matcha lattes.
As it becomes increasingly difficult to secure high-quality matcha even within Japan, UnD continues to maintain close relationships with select tea farmers across Kyoto—ensuring both consistent quality and reliable sourcing.
We invite you to experience the quiet depth and presence of Gokou through this carefully selected and crafted matcha by UnD.
