Earl Grey Wakoucha begins with Japanese black tea grown by Amano Seichaen on the Ishitobi Plateau in Minamata, Kumamoto. The fields sit around 630 meters above sea level, and the tea is grown without pesticides or chemical fertilizer. Bergamot adds a clear citrus aroma to the tea's mild sweetness and low astringency.

Tea from the Ishitobi Plateau
Amano Seichaen grows and makes tea on the Ishitobi Plateau, near the headwaters of the Minamata River. The fields sit around 630 meters above sea level, with views extending toward Unzen and the Kirishima range. Strong winds and the highland climate shape the site.
The family handles cultivation and tea making on the same farm. The tea is grown without pesticides or chemical fertilizer. Wakoucha made by the producer has received recognition in Japanese and international tea competitions, while each finished product remains defined by its own harvest and blend.

Bergamot Over Wakoucha
The base tea has low astringency, a mild sweetness, and a smooth finish. Bergamot enters as a distinct citrus aroma without replacing the character of the wakoucha beneath it.
Hot water brings the tea's roundness forward. Cold brewing gives more space to the fragrance and leaves a lighter finish. In both preparations, the tea remains present after the bergamot opens.
Drinking
Heals
We present Japanese tea and matcha as part of the Drinking Heals collection. In Japan, IPPUKU describes a brief pause—sometimes with tea, sometimes with a cigarette. Drinking Heals reimagines IPPUKU through Japanese tea. Inspired by the familiar warning “ Smoking Kills ” , it proposes another message: “ Drinking Heals .” A moment once associated with tobacco becomes a quiet ritual of water, tea, and time.
