An Okumidori-led blend and a single-origin ceremonial matcha. The tea is grown, harvested, processed into tencha, and milled in Uji, Kyoto.
Shade before harvest slows the growth of the shoots and builds umami and sweetness in the leaf. The Okumidori-led blend brings deep umami, mild bitterness, and a smooth mouthfeel.
Bright green color; delicate aroma
Mild bitterness; smooth, mellow mouthfeel
Subtle sweetness and deep umami
For usucha or a latte.
Grade: Ceremonial
Origin: Uji, Kyoto, Japan — grown, harvested, and processed in Uji
Cultivars: blend led by Okumidori
Cultivation: shade-grown
Uji, From Leaf to Matcha

In Uji, shaded cultivation, tencha processing, and milling developed within the same region. Shiun keeps that sequence in one place. The leaf is grown and harvested in Uji, processed into tencha, and milled into matcha there.
Shade before harvest slows the growth of the shoots and retains umami and sweetness in the leaf. The growing environment and the processing knowledge remain within the same origin.

Shiun is not a single-cultivar matcha. It uses only Uji-grown tencha, blended primarily around Okumidori.
Deep umami and a vivid green color form the center. Mild sweetness and a smooth mouthfeel complete the blend. Multiple cultivars create balance within a single origin.

We present Japanese tea and matcha as part of the Drinking Heals collection. In Japan, IPPUKU describes a brief pause—sometimes with tea, sometimes with a cigarette. Drinking Heals reimagines IPPUKU through Japanese tea. Inspired by the familiar warning “ Smoking Kills ” , it proposes another message: “ Drinking Heals .” A moment once associated with tobacco becomes a quiet ritual of water, tea, and time.
